Spring has sprung! The clocks are changed and we’re off and running at LUXOR.
Since my installation I’ve been busy attending meetings at Shrine Clubs and Shrine Centers throughout the Northeast.
To date, all have been rewarding and Shrine overall is making progress.
Spring Ceremonial is just a few months away. Our committee led by Ill. Sirs Dingee and Stokes are putting finishing details
to a weekend that promises to be a good time for all who attend. We will be entertaining a VERY special guest in attendance
at this ceremonial so I urge each and every Noble who can to come and enjoy Woodstock during the period of June 6-8th.attend
to do just that and enjoy the weekend, meet our guest and have a great time.
We really need new members. First and foremost we have to think of our Blue Lodge. The Masonic order needs new members to
add to its roster and we need new Masons to become Shrine so as we can do the same. By doing this and working together we
can help the membership of these two great fraternities grow in numbers. Nobles lets get out there and help both of our fraternities
grow. After all WE ARE FAMILY!
Curling in St. Andrews went extremely well. Eleven full teams had a grand time, a delicious feast and a fun weekend. Kudos
to the winners, participants, volunteers from the curling club and Ill. Sir Alward who was Chairman and official scorekeeper.
At the recent Northeast Shrine Association in Manchester, N.H. we were brought up to speed with respect to the NESA Fall Field
Days August 22-24 in that city. This will be a fantastic weekend for Shriners and their ladies. Our friends from Bektash Shriners
have a wonderful program set up to be enjoyed by all. Rates are reasonable, NH is tax free, so review the information in the
upcoming Luminary and please join us at this annual event.
Speaking of the Luminary, look for your copy in the mail early in May. We anticipate this publication to be full of interesting
reading for all who have the opportunity to peruse it. By the way, we have a new Editorial Team at the Luminary and they are
looking forward to producing their premiere issue and are truly excited about the future possibilities of the publication.
You will note we now have a few ads scattered throughout the Luminary to assist us with the overall costs of production. Also,
being introduced is the LUXOR LUMINARY BOOSTER CLUB. A $10.00 contribution gets your name printed in the Luminary as a supporter
of our newsletter. Contact LeRoy at the email address below to be included. We anticipate we will be able to have a self sufficient
publication at some point in the near future. Should you want to place an ad in the Luminary or contribute to its content
with and article, we have made it very easy to do so. Simply call the we page for Luxor at www.luxorshriners.ca go to the
sidebar titled Luminary, double click and follow the directions in sending your contribution through luminary@luxorshriners.ca
The Editorial Team consisting of LeRoy Hoffman, Ches Piercey, Graham Pelley and Dale Stevens with support from Ill. Sir Alward
Mehan and Norma Taylor will gladly entertain your submissions for future issues of this popular newsletter and instruct you
on how to obtain an ad for your company.
In closing I wish you a wonderful Spring and hope to see you at Woodstock in June.
